From the perspective of meaningful learning, with the aim of helping the learner to have the desire to learn school content, it was decided to highlight the value of this learning in their lives based on the exploration, among other aspects, of personal experiences acquired outside of school. Thus, an extension course was carried out aiming to transform the teaching practice of some undergraduate mathematics students, showing that school teaching goes beyond teaching content, therefore, this study is situated among qualitative research of the action research type. It was observed that the intervention, in addition to raising awareness about the causes and consequences of school dropout/dropout, allowed understanding the need to create effective strategies to combat them.

João Paulo Laranjo Velho, José Roberto da Silva (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Educação Sem Distância - Revista Eletrônica da Faculdade Unyleya -e-ISSN 2675-9993 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/217 Thu, 05 Jun 2025 00:00:00 -0300 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/226
This work's primary objective is to investigate whether the latest advances in artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, genuinely pose a threat to human life, as suggested by the recent letter from the Future of Life Institute. To this end, we examined the historical aspects of AI, the potential risks associated with this emerging technology, and the existing security protocols. As a theoretical foundation, we drew on the insights of notable experts in the field, including the Israeli philosopher and historian Yuval Noah Harari, and the Brazilians Muriel-Torrado (Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina) and Ronaldo Lemos (Director of the Institute of Technology and Society of Rio). Our approach was guided by the bibliographic-documentary review method and contemporary history. Through this study, we observed the ethical and economic ramifications that this technology could entail if monopolized and unregulated. Additionally, we noted that existing protocols merely require updates, a process that is already underway.
Júlio César da Silva, Fernanda Correa Guimarães (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Educação Sem Distância - Revista Eletrônica da Faculdade Unyleya -e-ISSN 2675-9993 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/226 Thu, 05 Jun 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Identification of opportunities for Substitution or complementation by cycling modal use in the Penha neighborhood – Rio De Janeiro, Brazil https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/228
The growing concern with sustainability and the reduction of noise and atmospheric pollution has led businesses to seek more ecological alternatives. Higher education institutions are crucial in adopting less polluting delivery methods, which contrast with traditional fossil fuel-powered options. This study aimed to identify opportunities to replace or complement last-mile urban deliveries in the Penha neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro, by shifting from road transport to cycling, with the goal of reducing environmental impact. It also sought to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of human-powered vehicles and select suitable models. The methodology used was field, bibliographic, and descriptive research. Sixty-six commercial establishments in Penha were visited, confirming the existing use of bicycles for deliveries and the viability of the mode, driven by flat terrain and secondary streets with less traffic. The research revealed that bicycles reduce polluting gas emissions and increase energy efficiency. Various commercial establishments already use the three main bicycle models for deliveries, justified by favorable local conditions, such as flat terrain and secondary roads with less vehicle flow, which are essential for safe cycling.
Júlio Loureiro (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Educação Sem Distância - Revista Eletrônica da Faculdade Unyleya -e-ISSN 2675-9993 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/228 Thu, 05 Jun 2025 00:00:00 -0300 COMPETÊNCIAS COMPORTAMENTAIS E PROFISSIONAIS https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/229
The aim of this paper is to explore a study on behavioral and professional competencies, highlighting their significance in the contemporary workplace. Developing and comprehending these skills, particularly in the context of teamwork, enhances organizational efficiency, employee contentment, and successful adaptation to the daily changes and challenges within a company. It is crucial to recognize that modern organizations must prioritize behavioral competencies over technical skills to achieve success in various sectors. A highly qualified individual, if emotionally neglected, may exhibit lower productivity, struggle with colleague interactions, and create discomfort within the workplace.
Erica Corrêa Soares , Ana Shirley Morais (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Educação Sem Distância - Revista Eletrônica da Faculdade Unyleya -e-ISSN 2675-9993 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/229 Mon, 09 Jun 2025 00:00:00 -0300 “TOGETHER ON SATURDAY”: WHEN ACCESSIBLE EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT IN THE DISTANCE LEARNING MODALITY IS AN ACT OF RESISTANCE AND SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/231
With the aim of redefining initial teacher training in the pedagogy course through accessible and inclusive educational support, we describe the experience of the "Together on Saturday" project. Its loving and inclusive actions are based on the premise that love, beyond a romantic dimension, is a relevant political act in the face of life's crossroads (Rufino, 2019). As an act of resistance and social transformation (hooks, 2017), it was observed that the adopted strategies enabled the creation of support and reflection networks, as well as the development of pedagogical practices that promote proficiency, especially in the areas of mathematics and Portuguese language.
Fabio Maia de Souza, Luciana Ferreira Furtado de Mendonça, Neilza Alves Barreto, Talita Campelo (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Educação Sem Distância - Revista Eletrônica da Faculdade Unyleya -e-ISSN 2675-9993 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/231 Mon, 09 Jun 2025 00:00:00 -0300 FINANCIAL management in micro and small businesses – Challenges and Solutions. https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/233
Financial management is a critical factor for the sustainability of micro and small enterprises (MSEs), which constitute the majority of businesses in Brazil and account for over 70% of formal employment. Despite their socioeconomic relevance, MSEs face significant constraints, such as deficient financial planning, weak cash flow control, and limited access to credit. The lack of structured management practices hinders working capital forecasting and leads to short-term financial decisions, often involving costly credit lines. Credit restrictions are exacerbated by informality, lack of collateral, and low financial maturity. In this context, financial education emerges as a strategic tool for the professionalization of management, fostering the adoption of analytical and technological tools, such as financial control software. Furthermore, public policies aimed at tax simplification and expanded credit access are essential to strengthen the MSE ecosystem. This study analyzes the main financial challenges faced by MSEs and proposes accessible and effective strategies to improve their financial management, highlighting their essential role in economic development and employment generation in Brazil.
Matheus Santos Fidelis, Ana Shirley Moraes (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Educação Sem Distância - Revista Eletrônica da Faculdade Unyleya -e-ISSN 2675-9993 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/233 Tue, 10 Jun 2025 00:00:00 -0300 INNOVATION AND BUSINESS TECHNOLOGIES: GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLIED TO BUSINESS. https://educacaosemdistancia.unyleya.edu.br/esd/article/view/235
It deals with the industrial revolutions that have occurred over the centuries, and especially the latest one, the Industry 4.0 Revolution, which has impacted and transformed personal and interpersonal work relationships.
